The Salvation Army are a long-standing client of ours, having worked with us since Fruitmedia first started thirteen years ago. Each year The Salvation Army runs the Helping Hand Appeal – an annual appeal with the aim of raising money for overseas projects. In the past we’ve done a film trip to Democratic Republic of Congo, produced designs for flyers and leaflets, and created multiple videos for various appeals.
Recently, The Salvation Army came to us asking for an animation for their upcoming appeal. The title of the appeal was ‘Together We Rise’, and the focus was on providing villages in Malawi with the funds to start up their own small businesses.
We chose to use a simple, 2D animation style for the video, as the main aim of the video was to get information across. A more complex graphical style would have confused the viewer and distracted from the message being conveyed.
The end result featured a bespoke soundtrack, composed and recorded in house. The soundtrack and visuals worked in harmony, and left us with a piece we were proud to put our name on. Since this animation we’ve worked on multiple projects with The Salvation Army, all of which have been met with high praise, and we’re looking forward to continuing to work with them in the future.
As well as creating a visually innovative and successful video campaign our client feedback is of the utmost importance to us and some of The Salvation Army’s feedback can be found below:
‘For this project we needed a campaign film produced but were unable to visit the projects featured. Fruitmedia helped us visualise this work and bring it to life through animation in a fun and engaging way.’
